Yuletide Day 6
Tonight is the Feast of St. Nicholas, the patron saint of children and known for secret gifts and generosity, so it feels like the perfect night to roll out one of my favorite traditions of the season: our tableside hot cocoa cart. This is my third year running it, and there is something pretty magical about wheeling a little cart of warmth right up to your table. Your cocoa is made to order, rich and full of fun! I change up the flavors each week so there is always a new reason to come back and try another one.
Tonight is a special one-time Saturday appearance from 4–7 pm.
After tonight, the cart will be running:
• Every Sunday from 4–7 pm until Christmas (7th, 14th, 21st)
• And during our Christmas Eve brunch from 9–3 pm
For Day 6 of our countdown, we are adding a little extra sweetness…

✨Day 1 Riddle Winners!✨
Thank you to everyone who joined in Tiny Tadhg’s riddle contest! Many of you knew the place. In the past we picked two winners because we ran the contest on both Facebook and Instagram. Even though we are doing things a bit differently this year, we decided to keep that part the same and still choose two winners!
Congrats!

Stop by the pub to collect your $25 gift card from the bartender.
Here is the riddle once more:
Raised as a gift in a valley serene,
Reflected in waters with a glasslike sheen,
With a chapel of mourning carved modest and bright,
And gardens enclosed for Victorian delight.
Later kept safe by women in black,
Who guarded its peace and kept tradition intact,
What western estate with a heart full of grace
Holds love, loss, and history in one quiet place?
Answer: Kylemore Abbey (Castle)
Tiny Tadhg loves Kylemore because it is located near where he is from, but most of all because of the story behind it. The way it has carried love, loss, faith, and learning all in one place, really inspires him. When he visited last year, he spent most of his time wandering the garden paths, sitting near the small Gothic church, and watching the “house” reflect in the lake. For him, it feels like a place that is always holding one more story, if you take the time to look.
About Kylemore Abbey:
It is a historic estate in Connemara in County Galway. It began as Kylemore Castle in the 19th century, built by Mitchell Henry as a grand home and heartfelt gift for his wife Margaret after they fell in love with the area on their honeymoon. Margaret died suddenly during their travels only a short time after the castle was completed, and Mitchell later built the small Gothic-style church on the grounds in her memory, a building often described as a cathedral in miniature.
In 1920 the property was purchased by Benedictine nuns who had fled Belgium during the First World War, and they turned it into a monastery and later a girls’ school while restoring the Victorian Walled Garden and caring for the estate. Today Kylemore is known for its lakeside setting, its reflective views of the house in Pollacappul Lake, its chapel, and its gardens, which together tell a story of love, loss, faith, and preservation in the west of Ireland.
