Yuletide Day 26
✨Final Farewell✨
In Ireland and the UK, today is one of the biggest pub days of the year. Yesterday is for family and full tables at home. Today is for everyone!
It is for old friends finding each other again and the first proper catch up over a pint. It is for stories, laughter, and that quiet relief that comes once the big day has passed. The season loosens its grip, and we gather not out of obligation, but because this is where we want to be.
Tiny Tadhg heard “big pub day” and immediately tried to unpack his suitcase. Ha!
Although he could not stay any longer, he informed me, more than once, that a proper departure requires “formal acknowledgements.” So before today’s final Yuletide reveal, a few important notes from Tiny Tadhg’s very official notebook…
A Farewell from Tiny Tadhg
For the past few weeks, Tiny Tadhg has treated Saints & Scholars like a North Pole field office. He supervised cocoa production, kept a close eye on whiskey bingo, helped turn our hallways into a gallery of children’s artwork, and made sure I stayed festively focused, especially when it came to glitter usage.
Now he is heading back to the North Pole with an impressive amount of cocoa-related confidence and the firm belief that he is fully qualified to run an Irish pub.
He asked me to say thank you for leaning into the riddles, the antics, and the occasional dramatic pose. Watching kids and adults alike play along has truly been the highlight of the season.
✨ Riddle Winners
Thank you to everyone who took on Tiny Tadhg’s riddles this season.
Here is the final riddle one more time:
I’m spoken when December’s here,
Across the sea with holiday cheer.
Shared when friends and strangers meet,
Or while handing a child a festive treat.
Two Irish words, said joyous and bright,
To wish you well on a winter’s night.
What greeting am I?
The answer was Nollaig Shona (pronounced NULL-ig HUN-uh), Irish for “Happy Christmas.”
Winner: Penny H.
Congratulations! Your $50 gift card will be waiting for you at the bar.
✨ Coloring Contest Winners
Thank you to every kiddo who picked up a page and brought it to life, especially with a limited amount of colors. The Hall of Kells has truly never looked better!
All artwork will remain on display through January 6. Tiny Tadhg insisted that all entries were “officially excellent,” and he did not want to leave anyone unrewarded. Every participant will receive a complimentary kid sundae. Simply pull your artwork down from the wall and show your server to redeem your treat, then take your masterpiece home to enjoy a little longer.
The age group winners Tiny Tadhg selected are:
• Ages 4–6: Britt B.
• Ages 7–9: Brooklyn
• Ages 10–12: Emma P.
Congratulations! Each of you will receive a special treat bag and a kid’s meal on us.
✨ Irish Whiskey Bingo Challengers
To everyone who played along, I hope you found a few whiskeys you will come back to. With the size of our Irish whiskey list, these little challenges are one of the best ways to explore, especially when there are perks involved.
If you have not received your $5 off or burger yet, we will hold your cards until you do. Please redeem by January 6.
And for those who completed 12 squares or more (there were 11 of you!), I will be reaching out by text once your prizes are ready and the VIP whiskey tasting date is set.
✨ Day 26 Reveal: Your Choice ✨
Tiny Tadhg insisted we end Yuletide with something that feels like a proper toast!
For today’s final reveal, Yuletide subscribers may repeat any one Yuletide special from the month, one per person.
Bring back a favorite dish, order the dessert you have been thinking about, or finally try the whiskey you missed the first time around.
Simply show your server or bartender which reveal you would like to use, and we will take it from there. It is our way of sending you into the New Year with a little extra cheer.
We hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Looking ahead, we have plenty coming in the weeks to follow. Irish New Year and New York New Year celebrations with Prime Rib Dinner, Women’s Christmas Afternoon Tea, Ladies’ Night, Trivia nights, Flights and Bites, music, whiskey events, and so much more! Our text messages and the events page on the website are the best ways to stay in the loop.
